What uses 12 volt power?

Katie keeps asking me what we have that uses 120 volt verses 12 volt power. It should be noted that we are in the middle of a power upgrade which will make this question moot soon, as we will have over 1k amp hours of lithium battery and a large inverter/charger that can run the entire rig off the batteries for an extended period of time. But, until then IF we lose power and/or are dry camping, we really need to watch our power consumption, especially with our residential refrigerator that does not run off LP like most RV fridges.

We currently have 200 amp hours of lithium battery in our rig and have not been able to test how long that lasts us without recharging the batteries.

12 volt systems

  • Interior, exterior and storage lighting
  • Vent fans in the roof (bathroom and kitchen)
  • Fan & Igniter on LP heater
  • Residential Fridge aka inverter that supplies 120v power only to the fridge
  • Backup and Side view cameras (if turned on)
  • Igniter for the Hot Water (we have a on-demand hot water system)
  • Ceiling fan in Master Bedroom
  • Reading lights and USBs above Master Bed

120 volt systems

  • Both electric fireplaces
  • Microwave
  • Battery charger
  • All the ‘power poles’ in the rig
  • All standard 3 prog outlets
  • Air Conditioning (dual-compressor) with Heat pump
  • Hood fan and light above the stove
  • Igniter on the LP stove and oven
