Sunday, December, 24th 2023 | Inpatient Day 04
Richard is improving. He keeps getting a little more energy and more and more playful. His oxygen flow rate has gotten down to 8 liters/minute his peak need two days ago was 20 liters/minute. When it gets down to somewhere between 2 and 4 liters/minute we start talking about being able to switch back to low-flow oxygen and that means moving back down to the less acute care floor.
We were very blessed by having Amanda as our bedside nurse and it looks like she is even working tomorrow, so we might have her for Christmas.
We have spent more than one holiday in the hospital, but this will be our first Christmas, as a matter of fact, due to illness and/or isolation needs this will be at least our 3rd year in a row missing the big family Christmas. Sadly next year due to needing to get to Boston in summer of 2025 we will be likely missing Christmas 2024.
I’m glad to read that your home again. May all of you have a wonderful blessed and healthy new year. prayers, love and hugs
