Our we started out at a nice comfortable 8:30 am in the morning and left Thousand Trails Harbor View in Colonial Beach, Virginia to head to Flatwood KOA in Sutton, West Virginia.
About 90 minutes later we made a quick restroom stop at a Rest Area just outside of Manakin-Sabot, VA. We then stopped to top off our diesel at Loves Travel Stop (a truck stop) in Staunton, VA at about 11:35 am before starting our climbing into the Appalachian Mountains.
The Appalachian Mountains are beautiful and gave us quite the landscapes to enjoy. We stopped at another Loves Travel Stop in Covington, VA for a restroom break at at about 1 pm.
We pulled over to the side of the road to use the bathroom in our rig in Rupert, VA at about 2:20 pm. We finally pulled into the Flatwoods KOA in Sutton, WA at about 4 pm. The Flatwoods KOA is a strange duck but that is a story for another post.

I know! We looked into how far off a drive it would be (too far) but next time we’re heading east we will make a point to stop by!
