Sunday and Monday, May 28th and 29th 2023
Overnight Saturday to Sunday
Saturday Richard came home from Boston Children’s Hospital. His first night at home was about as we expected. He was on his monitor and we did have him on 1 liter oxygen overnight. We only had to get up once to suction him. This is an improvement from the night before.
Papa and mama enjoyed being together and getting to cuddle overnight!
Sunday, May, 28th 2023
We deiced to keep the weekend low-key and just hang around camp since Richard just came home. Papa, finally (after 30 days) ‘setup’ the campsite. He deployed the big gazebo over the picnic table, setup our Blackstone Grill and for the first-time ever used the LP quick-connect on the 5th Wheel.
We went over to ‘the Campfire Canteen’ (the Food Truck at the campground) for ‘Breakfast with the Bears.’ They served either pancakes or a breakfast sandwich. Richard met his first “bear,” Boo-Boo and even gave him a big high-five and a fist bump. Mama was so happy to see her boys together that she kept tearing up and getting mad at papa for taking pictures. After pictures, we went home. On the way Richard walked almost all the way back, this is also an improvement.
The team here at Jellystone Park has been wonderful and gone way above and beyond to support our family while we are here. Throughout the time Richard was in the hospital, they let Sidney tour the construction site, gave him some toys a couple times and checked in on mama and big brother. Beyond just being very exited to see finally meet Richard, they added Richard to ‘Bear mail delivery’ without us even signing up. When we got back from breakfast Richard found a letter from Yogi Bear & BooBoo Bear.
Sidney did not eat most of his breakfast and has been feeling under the weather today. He threw-up once, was feeling fatigued and having diarrhea. He ended up sleeping on the couch and we canceled our hay ride for the afternoon and just hung around the campsite.
After they boys went down Mama and Papa enjoyed some smores and star gazing around the campfire.
Monday, May 29th 2023
Monday, was an extension of Sunday. Sidney started throwing up even more and started a chain of a unknown stomach/GI bug that we will talk about more in the coming weeks post.
