The most exiting part of the day was when we ran into an old hospital, and I mean old, friend. Way back in the PICU, when Richard was a baby, we met Richard’s favorite Residents. At Seattle Children’s Hospital in the PICU (and NICU) Residents rotate through the department every month. For each month, one of the residents would be assigned as Richard’s primary ICU Doc. The doctor we ran into today recognized papa and after a few key words remembered us and Richard from Seattle when he rotated through the PICU! Very small world.
The other excitement is that this evening when Richard and papa went to the roof, we got to watch a Life Flight helicopter take off rom the pad. Richard was a little concerned but once papa said “oh, that is so cool’ he really enjoyed it. Later in the night another one landed while we where in the room and he ‘ran’ to the window to try and see it very excited.
