This morning Papa and Richard left at 4:30 am to be at Boston Children’s at 6am for a 7:30 am Procedure. He was scheduled to get two things done to day. First was a momentous landmark, when they removed his CLV/Central Line with ease. This means that he no longer has a elevated risk of infections, no more weekly deliveries and about 20% of our fridge space back.

The second part of the procedure was an EDG (camera/scope down his throat) with possible (if needed) dilation. Based on how much it had already closed they are able to do a pretty good job of predicting who soon he needs to come back for for another EDG with dilation. When we were discharged we were told he would likely need to come back in 3 to 9 months for another dilation. When Dr. Noe said ‘1 to 2 years and likely 2 years’ dad about jumped out of his seat in excitement.

The follow-up plan is for us to have a follow-up in 6 months have a virtual follow-up with Dr. Noe and then we will decide if we want to come back to Boston in 1 or 2 years.
That’s great news! (And I like the haircut too!)
